Where Foreplay is the better choice
You collect ads from many places
Foreplay's extension and mobile apps save ads from the Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn ad libraries, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Adspy has no extension; it covers Meta and Google ads, and collects the organic posts of brands' TikTok and YouTube accounts itself.317
You want analytics on your own ad accounts
Foreplay's Lens connects your ad accounts for creative analytics, reports and benchmarks. Adspy does not connect ad accounts.113
You turn references into briefs
Foreplay's Briefs writes scripts and builds storyboards from saved ads, on every plan, and exports them to PDF or Sheets.112
Your research includes TikTok or LinkedIn ads
Foreplay's library includes TikTok and LinkedIn ads. Adspy does not cover either.2
Where Adspy is different
Unlimited followed brands from $19 a month
Every Adspy plan follows as many brands as you want, from $19 a month, billed monthly. Foreplay's Spyder starts on Workflow at $175 a month with 15 brands (50 on Agency), and becomes unlimited on annual billing, from $149 a month.1
Every ad of a brand, not only the saved ones
Adspy collects each brand's ads from Meta Ad Library and Google's Ads Transparency Center, whether or not anyone saved them. Foreplay's library holds the ads its users saved.2
AI tags on competitors' ads
Analyzed ads carry AI tags in 23 creative categories, from asset type to hook style, so the whole library filters by them. Foreplay's AI tagging works on your own ads in Lens; saved ads carry the tags you add.1415
Google and YouTube ads
Adspy includes creatives from Google's Ads Transparency Center, including available YouTube ads, next to Meta. Foreplay lists saving from the Transparency Center as coming soon.3
History from before you followed
For brands already in the library, Adspy shows ads that ended before you followed them, with their recorded activity. Spyder keeps a brand's ads from the moment tracking starts.5
The same research in your AI assistant, with Adspy
- Connect Adspy to your AI assistant, then ask for a brand, a product or a phrase, for example Meta video ads that mention collagen.
- Ask for AG1's ads: its creatives across Meta, their formats and their recorded activity.
- Ask for AG1's Brand Full Analysis: the hooks and formats across its ads, its organic posts where Adspy collects them, and the ads behind each finding.
- Follow AG1, then ask for its newest ads, newest first, to see what it started running.
- Ask your assistant to save the ads worth keeping in a collection, with a note for your team.
Questions
Does Adspy show every ad a brand runs?
Adspy collects a brand's ads from Meta Ad Library and Google's Ads Transparency Center; coverage depends on what each source makes available and what has been collected. Foreplay's library holds ads its users saved, and its Spyder feature tracks a brand's Meta ads once tracking starts.
How many brands can I follow?
Adspy follows unlimited brands on every plan, from $19 a month. Foreplay's Spyder follows 15 brands on Workflow ($175 a month) and 50 on Agency ($459), unlimited on annual billing; it is not on Basic.
Does Adspy have a browser extension?
No. You search the Adspy library from your AI assistant and ask it to add a missing brand, for 400 credits: 94% of 663 requests from March to September 2026 finished within 10 minutes, with a median of 2.3 minutes. Foreplay's extension saves ads from many platforms.
Can I use either one inside Claude?
Yes. Both offer an MCP server. Adspy's is included in every plan; Foreplay's draws on its plan's API credits.
Does Adspy connect to my ad accounts?
No. Adspy uses public ad data only, so it shows no spend, conversions or ROAS. Foreplay's Lens connects your own ad accounts for creative analytics.
Sources and method
This page compares published facts only. Foreplay’s entries come from its own public pages, listed below with the date each was checked; Adspy’s come from this site’s plans and product pages. Adspy's time to collect a missing brand is measured from its own job records: 663 requests from March to September 2026, median 2.3 minutes, 94% within 10 minutes, counted until the brand's ads are collected. Sources are checked again at least every 90 days and when a price changes. To report an error, write to info@adspy.sh.
